Batteries For Generating Electricity at Home Using Magnetic Power Generators

Your magnetic power generator has been built and you are ready to turn it and to slash and destroy your electrical utility bill. You have selected your charge controller, now what you need to consider is the type of battery bank you will need. Batteries are used to store up all the massive amounts of electricity your magnetic power generator is making. They are vital to achieving your goal of electric energy independence of going off grid. Here I will give you guidelines on the various types of batteries available for generating electricity at home?.

Batteries Store the Energy Generated

I am pretty sure most understand the principle that batteries are used to store the energy generated by your magnetic power system. There are differences in how some batteries do this for their charge and discharge cycle. Car batteries are designed for a very fast discharge of a few seconds (to start your car) followed by a slow recharge period. Golf cart batteries are designed for a long slow discharge every day followed by a short period of recharge of a few hours and are known as deep cycle batteries. These type of batteries are perfect for generating electricity at home using a magnetic power generator. Golf cart batteries are the cheapest and most effective deep cycle battery available and are recommended for getting your power system up and running.

Types of Batteries

The most common type of deep cycle battery is the lead acid type. They are readily available, cheap, but require some maintenance during their useful life. Sealed deep-cycle acid lead batteries are maintenance and trouble free, but they are more expensive. Sealed gel batteries are also maintenance free, but they must not be overcharged or they will be damaged. Since you will be using a charge controller in your system this will not be a problem. All of these batteries come in 6 or 12 volts and your system configuration will tell you how many you need.

Configuring the Batteries in Your System

Based on your system design, you will probably have a 12 volt or 24 volt system. Your components like the charge controller and power inverter will be the same size as this design voltage. This means the batteries have to be grouped in "strings" to reach the desired voltage. Connecting batteries in series increases their voltage (minus to plus), and connecting them in parallel increases the current (plus to a bus bar and minus to a bus bar). Most of the deep cycle lead acid batteries that are recommended for your system will be 6 volt. If your system is 12 volts then you will have strings of two batteries each in series. The number of strings needed is based on the total demand of your design load.

Batteries are an important component when you are generating electricity at home. They enable you to store the huge amounts of energy you are making from your magnetic power generator, and cut or eliminate your electricity bill. The 6 volt lead acid battery is the type recommended when you are first putting your system together.

Renewable Energy Advantages for Your Home

Using DIY Power Generators

Everyone is talking about renewable energy and the huge advantages to using them, but for many the option of going green has been too expensive an outlay. That has all changed and now one of the greatest advantages of renewable energy for your home is that it costs very little to set up.

Renewable energy can best be described as energy that is harnessed from renewable sources such as the sun, wind and magnetic fields. These three thing appear abundantly in nature and even by harnessing their properties they will never run out. If they ever do, there will be no more life and therefore no more power demands.

Over the last decade solar and wind generation has become extremely popular, but due to the high investment required to have them installed they have not been for everyone. Now that is no longer the case. If you have just limited diy experience, you can build your own for a fraction of the price of buying them from a company. In addition to the cut in cost, there are the added advantages of being able to maintain them yourself.

For those people who don't live in sunny climates and do not have consistent wind, the launch of magnetic generators is the very best option. They require no external factors in order to generate power and this newly released technology, although being used for over two decades, is now being used for domestic energy requirements around the globe.

The greatest advantages of renewable energy are:
~ They have an endless supply
~ They have no negative effect of the environment
~ They are extremely cost effective to manufacture
~ They are completely safe for the family and home

For anyone wanting to take advantage of alternative renewable energy systems, this is a win-win situation. Not only are you saving your family money and keeping your home toxin free, but you are also helping to reduce dependency on fossil fuels and doing your bit to combat climate change.

Renewable Energy as A Viable Alternative for Tomorrow

The resources that have been used to empower worldwide economies are becoming extinct, causing fighting in the Middle East, and an accelerated international government power trip. The sooner every home owner and business entity makes the decision to begin using renewable energy, the sooner the world will be a more pleasant place to live.

One renewable energy source is the use of the sun to create energy that can be converted into a source for electricity. One thing is given while using this source; the sun will never burn out, leaving anyone with no power. In addition electricity can be generated by the use of the wind, or even by creating a water wheel. There are also new innovative mechanisms that can create energy alone with no need for any kind of renewable energy.

Heating a building with petroleum based fuels such as kerosene, diesel, or propane is highly toxic via the exhaust produced and released into the atmosphere. Therefore, wood pellet stoves have been introduced. These stoves burn small pellets which are similar to the size of rabbit pellets and are made of compressed saw dust. This is a good alternative to use for heating a building, but the pellets have become expensive.

Diesel fuel is used in the United States by a number of large trucking fleets to ensure the strength of the economy. These trucks burn a petroleum based fuel that creates carbon in excess amounts, polluting the air and the atmosphere. There is a natural type of biodiesel fuel that will operate a diesel engine and does not create any dangerous exhaust fumes. With a few minor adjustments, this fuel can be used as a heating fuel as well for any forced air furnace that uses kerosene.

Gas engines also release harmful gases into the air causing pollution. Gas vehicle motors are being changed into ethanol using motors or hybrids. Hybrids can operate on different fuels and are rather costly to purchase. There are hydro vehicles that run on water, but certainly release hot steam into the air. Electric cars are also an option.

Recycling plastic should be a top priority in every household. Plastic is not biodegradable and when not recycled will lie in a dump for eons before it naturally disintegrates. Burning plastic products will enlarge the hole that is already creating the planet to heat up considerably.

Teaching the future generations how to perform manual labor without the use of fuel or battery powered equipment is the greatest method in the continuous fight against global warming. When there is work going on at home instead of make believe television, or manipulated media, the home front becomes stronger. The fight against global warming starts on the home front.

Renewable energy sources need put into effect immediately. The only people capable of making a dent in the energy crisis are those that are not afraid to try something no one else will attempt.

Solar Energy Systems for Pools

If you have a pool, you know how much heating it can crank up your utility bill. Solar energy systems for pools offer an alternative method that will not devastate your bank account.

Solar Energy Systems for Pools

When most people think of solar energy systems, they think of the large crystalline structures that are meant to collect a lot of solar energy in order to convert it into solar power. However, there are other uses for solar energy systems. One of the more ingenious uses for this technology is the use of solar energy systems for heating pools. By using solar power to heat your swimming pool, you can be sure that your morning swim will always be nice, comfortable and cheap.

Everyone has to heat their pool unless they are living in a tropical climate where the temperature doesn’t drop at night. Some people choose to purchase a pool cover, but these only work to limit heat loss versus actually heating up the water. Gas heaters work well, but the operating cost of a gas heater can really add up. A low initial cost can draw pool owners to gas heaters, but the charges over the life of the use of the pool can be appalling.

Using solar energy systems for heating pools, however, can solve all of the problems of the above methods. Usually, solar energy systems are installed on the roof of your house, where much sunlight hits. These solar energy systems collect heat, which is transmitted to water stored in hoses behind the solar collectors. This warms the water, which is then circulated through the pool. This method of heating a swimming pool does cost more initially than any other heating system, but the solar collectors and other accessories pay for themselves within a few years. If you plan to live in the home for some time, the cost will be a fraction of any other heating method. If you plan to sell the house in the near future, the solar energy systems will add to the value of the house since they are considered energy savers over time.

The use of solar energy systems for heating pools is a time tested strategy. If you live in an area where lots of homes have pools, you should take a walk around the neighborhood. You will notice lots of homes with pools have solar energy systems. The only downside to this approach is the government does not offer any financial incentives for heating your pool with solar. Given the utility savings, it really doesn’t matter. It is still a no brainer to use solar energy systems for heating pools.

Solar energy systems are a great choice for heating your swimming pool. As well as being the most cost effective heating system, solar energy systems are the most eco-friendly as well. Choosing solar energy for your swimming pool heating means that everyone wins!

Three Ways to Save Fuel and Energy With Magnets

The theory behind using a powerful magnetic field to improve fuel burn in combustion engines is nothing new. Magnetic fields were use to improve the combustion of fuel as early as 1940s. The US air force used magnets on their Mustang aircraft and produced greater range and performance from poor quality fuel. In 1952, Felix Bloch and Edward Mills Purcell were jointly awarded a Nobel Prize for their work on magnetic fields on solid, liquid and gas substances.

There are three ways magnets save energy and fuel.

Attach a magnet to the fuel lead pipe of your burner. The magnet conditions the fuel allowing greater combustion. This happens immediately. You produce more heat for the same amount of fuel and harmful emission is cut. I have Calorgas (Liquid Petroleum Gas) central heating. Since attaching a magnet, my direct debit has been cut by 110%. If your boiler is old and inefficient, instead of buying a new boiler, try a magnet first.

In addition the cleaner burn means that the boiler will need less servicing and lasts longer. If your boiler is already efficient, then the benefit will be less. You cannot create energy during a chemical reaction. Magnets, however, allow as close to 100% combustion. Instead of buying an expensive new boiler, attach a magnet.
Attach a magnet to the fuel feed of your car and your save fuel, energy and reduce emission. The magnet improves combustion. This produces better miles per gallon, more power and a smoother running engine.

In 1992, The Warren Springs Laboratories, the UK Government DTI's own vehicle testing department, were commissioned to carry out extensive trials on the benefits of magnetic fuel on motor vehicles and were very surprised by the results. Their 16-page in-depth report confirmed increased power, improved fuel economy and a reduction in harmful emissions.

If your car is old with poor emission levels, the magnet will slowly clean the engine. So initially the emission will be higher than expected but eventually the level will drop significantly. A friend of mine tows a caravan with his Peugeot 2L HDi Partner Quicksilver. Since attaching a magnet his mpg has jumped up a further 10 mpg. Normally you would expect about 10% improvement.

Magnets stop and reduce lime scale. Lime scale forms because the solubility of calcium carbonate decreases with increased temperature. As calcium carbonate separates out, lime scale is formed.

Lime scale affects heat transfer. A layer of calcium carbonate 25mm. thick can decrease heat transfer by 95% and a 0.5mm layer of silica causes a decrease of 90%. In addition if lime scale collects on the heating element in your hot water tank, the element will not last long. Lime scale causes problems in washing machines.

If a magnet is attached at an angle perpendicular to the flow of water, it stops the lime scale deposits and breaks down the deposited lime scale. No one knows exactly why this happens but the magnet keeps calcium and magnesium in solution and stops them separating out and producing lime scale. It also lowers surface tension and stabilises pH. The magnetised water will protect your washing machine but will not stop lime scales in your kettle. This is because the magnetic effect is neutralised when the kettle is boiled.

So there you have it. With fuel prices going upwards at regular intervals, attach a magnet to your boiler, your water system and your car and save energy, save fuel, save money, reduce emission and prolong the life of your boiler and car.

With global warming a major current issue, it is up to all of us to do our bit. In Germany, if your boiler emission level is too high, your pay a fine. One day it will come to Britain and USA. If you have emission problem, a magnet will quickly solve it. The right magnet will keep its magnetic properties for 100 years and you take it with you when you move home or change cars. It needs no maintenance. You just simply forget about it.

The Benefits of A Magnetic Generator

Free energy for life!!!

Building a magnetic generator is a brilliant idea. Why wouldn't you want to be more cost effective and have the freedom to generate your own energy? The energy a magnet contains is natural and doesn't need an energy input to help it generate energy.

This is how a magnetic generator takes advantage of a magnet and transforms itself into a free energy generator. It utilizes the energy from the magnet to produce perpetual motion. Perpetual motion refers to movement that goes on forever, which means a perpetual device will indefinitely produce larger amounts of energy than it uses.

Unlike other renewable resources like solar energy, which stops creating energy during the winter months, a magnetic generator will continue to produce electrical energy that can fully power your home for free, without stopping.

With this type of technology you can imagine there are many benefits for someone using a device like a magnetic generator.

1. You Will Not Need Any Source Of Renewable Or Non-Renewable Energy
When you construct a magnetic power generator, you will have the ability to generate completely free energy without needing any source of renewable or non-renewable energy. The generator will create energy by itself without any kind of resources.

2. It Is Safe
This free energy generator is safe to use and operate. It does not produce any harmful gases or other hazards. It also doesn't pollute the environment, which makes it eco friendly.

3. You Can Save A lot
It varies how much you can save using a magnetic generator. By just partially powering your home with this kind of generator you can save 30 to 50%. However, if you power your home full time using this generator you will no longer have to pay the power company a dime.

Small Micro Hydro Electric Power Generator

Hydro power depends on running water to turn the turbine and produce electricity. A small scale Hydro Power Generator is often called Micro Hydro Electric Generator. A Micro Hydro Plant usually produces electricity below 100kW.

Recent interest in Small Scale Hydro Plants as part of movements in producing more cleaner and greener energy has attracted many researches to study and develop many improvements in Micro Hydro Technology.
Micro Hydro Plants can produce useful amount of electricity even from just a small stream. For houses that has access to streams can consider to set up a Micro Hydro Plant to produce reliable electricity supply at lower cost than other renewable technology sources.

One main reason why many people turn to Hydro Electricity Plant is because it is a renewable energy, meaning it will not be depleted over time and it will consistently be replenished. It is also a clean energy source, as it does not emit any toxins. Other reason many turn to Micro Hydro Plants is because it's relatively more cheaper than other green technologies in converting energy to electricity and can be used almost immediately when turned on to meet the demand for electricity.

How Does a Micro Hydro Plant Work?

This Water Powered Electricity Generator works by relying on Potential Energy that is contained in water that are stored in height. You may be wondering what is Potential Energy anyway? Well you can imagine it as gasoline in your car that is parked in your garage, it has a potential to move your car but your car is still parked in your garage, but once you start the engine the potential released into movements.

So, when the water falls down from height it converts the Potential Energy into Kinetic Energy. This Kinetic Energy will then turn the turbines. The internal mechanic in the turbine will then produce electricity for you.

For Small Hydro Plant (Micro Hydro Plant) it can converts about 60%-80% of Kinetic Energy into Electricity. If you're really interested in creating your own Micro Hydro Electric Power you should read a book from a professional Author that's been in the business for years...

Hydro Energy for the Home

Can I really use hydro energy to power my home?

There are really very few people who would be able to take advantage of hydropower in their homes. A small stream simply isn’t going to be big enough to power even a micro hydro energy system but if you happen to be one of the very lucky few who have a reasonable size stream or waterway of any sort running through your land then hydro power is an excellent form of power and you should consider looking into it. It has one big advantage over any other sort of renewable energy you may be considering for your home. It will create power 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The wind may stop blowing and the sun might stop shining but the water will always keep flowing. You can get hold of micro hydro turbines that will work with as little as 2 feet of water drop but still may provide you with enough power for the whole year.

Cover all your bases with wind and solar.

Combining this with a turbine and solar energy and you could probably power your neighbor’s houses too. Get a grid tie system which will enable you to buy energy from the grid and sell it back to the grid as well; you could be making a small profit as well as becoming completely energy self sufficient and doing your bit to beat global warming.

Finding a hydropower solution for your home.

There are fewer companies that deal with selling and fitting hydropower units simply because there is much less demand for it, but shop around you will be able to find one eventually. Find solar and wind energy companies and ask them if they do micro hydro generators as well; even if they don’t supply them themselves they may be able to put you in touch with a company who does. Calculate the drop you could get from the water as well as the average water flow so you can give them your measurements and they will be able to tell you what system is required and if it’s a viable solution, and if you find the right company they will probably come out and work that out for you.

Canyon Industries.

Canyon Industries Inc are manufacturers of micro hydro generators and are worth considering if you are serious about hydro power. You can visit their site at http://www.canyonindustriesinc.com and contact them for further information as well as for guidance on your waterflow.

Building Your Own Solar Panel

Simple Steps!!!

Building your own solar panel is becoming more financially viable these days with skyrocketing electricity and heating costs, combined with the rapidly declining cost of solar panels. Constructing a solar panel is cheap (you can do it for less than $200) is easy with the simple steps you are going to learn today, and can easily be done in a few hours. Once it is finished, install the panel in your home and you will notice a massive decrease in your next utility bill. By building numerous different panels you can actually create a system powerful enough to "remove you from the grid"- basically, you will stop receiving power bills and instead your utility company could be sending you checks at the end of every month. Now wouldn't that be nice.

Building your own solar panel -
Step one- you need to get all of the required raw materials to produce the solar panel. Here is a list of what you will need, as well as where you can get the items, and what their rough cost will be,

* Solar Cells - eBay - approximately $80-$100 depending on where you live and how hard you look.
* Wood/lumber - Hardware store - around $20-30 depending on the exact measurements of the system, and whether your store is offering specials etc.
* Plexiglass or proper glass - Scrap piles, glazier discards - free if you can get it from a scrap pile, recycling centre or glazier discards. Otherwise the cost will be fairly low anyway.
* Tools such as saws, screwdrivers, screws, drill etc - Garage - Most people will have such tools already lying around in the garage.
* Wire - Hardware stores - Around $5-$10 for a large quantity. If you plan on building numerous solar panels then buy wire by the roll.
* Instruction manual - This will provide you with all the necessary measurements to build your solar panel, as well as images and video files of how exactly to put the components together and install them in a safe manner. You really do need to get one of these- the good news is that you can get downloadable ones over the Internet and they are not expensive (around $50, and you will also get a free copy of instructions that will show you how to build your own wind turbine)

The basic process of building your own solar panel involves-

1. Sizing up a plywood board. Next, the solar cells have to be aligned along the piece of plywood to the measurements and pattern laid out in the instruction manual.
2. Holes are then drilled in the ply and the copper wire is inserted through and attached to the cells. Another piece of ply is used to back the system and to prevent wires from sticking out.
3. One more ply piece is used to create a protruding frame around the panel, and then the glass sheet is inserted and attached securely in order to protect the delicate cells.
4. The finished system is painted and sealed, then installed and wired into your house's electricity system as per the instruction manual (I'm not going to tell you this in words- you need pictures to do it properly and safely)
5. Enjoy saving hundreds of dollars a year from that one solar panel which, when the cost of instructions are included, will have cost you less than $200. You will never have to worry about the increasing cost of electricity again after building your own solar panel.

Click here to learn more about instructions for solar panels in your home, including how much you will need to spend, what your power bill reductions will be, as well as what the best solar instructions are.

Do you ever hope for free electricity for your home? Well, your wish could quickly come true with a permanent magnet generator. This super do-it-yourself generator kit can provide 100% free electricity and anyone can do it.

The permanent magnet generator system is a complete package consisting of simple, easy to follow plans which enable anyone to build their own magnetic generator.

These magnetic generators can be very quickly built by anyone even with limited DIY knowledge and many people have completed their project within hours of starting.

One of the biggest benefits to building a permanent magnet generator is that it can be built and ready to go for a cost of under $135.

This average size generator would be quite capable of literally slashing your electric bill in half - just think of the money you could save! Better still, simply build a second unit or just go for a bigger unit the first time around and you could even be looking at eliminating your electric bill completely!

No specialist equipment or tools are required to build your permanent magnet generator. Most people have at least some form of basic tool kit and this should be all that's required for you to get started. Additionally, most of the parts required are available from most good hardware stores.

A permanent magnet generator also has some clear advantages over the use of other alternative energy sources such as wind or solar power although these are still great energy resources. A great example is that unlike solar and wind power, magnetic energy does not rely on the weather conditions as generally your magnetic generator will be kept indoors.

Any genuine and serious home DIY energy enthusiast should really consider building their own Permanent Magnet Generator. These generators are an easy to build and cost effective method to provide a great source of renewable energy for your home and are becoming an increasingly popular and credible option!

Build Solar Panels for Power

3 important reason why you want to build solar panels for power

Renewable energy is the thing of future. The sun gives out enough energy that it makes absolute sense to build solar panels for power. A lot of people are looking into this direction for several reasons and in this articles I want to cover the 3 top reasons why you would want to build solar panels for power supply.

1) Environmental Benefits
The first major reason is that it is environmentally pure. There is no waste produced as a side effect of this kind of energy source. And all the equipment used to generate electric power from solar panels is non waste producing. It uses no fuel apart from the sun's light and releases absolutely nothing into the atmosphere. This is key.

2) It has a Low Cost of Maintenance
The solar energy system has a maintenance cost next to zero. Once you have successfully installed the system, it will pretty much run on auto pilot and thus reducing your maintenance costs tremendously.

3) Minimal Setup Cost
The cost of installing the solar energy system is pretty low. The key is in finding the right installation guide. If you get a good guide that walks you through every step, you will find that the setup cost will be much lower than you think, and that doing it yourself is the way to go. If you do this step successfully, you will reap the benefits of your investment and efforts for a long time to come.   With these 3 important reasons in mind, you can see that harnessing electrical energy from sun provides us with a great alternative to our current electrical supply. Renewal energy is available to all, is beneficial to all, and is harmless to our beloved earth. It is the ultimate path to going green!

You Can Profit from Renewal Energy

Is Solar Power Going to Work For You?

As long as we have sunshine we will have solar power, at least until the sun does not shine any more. Most people if they are smart will include solar power as well as wind power in the construction of their new homes.

Once the construction is completed you will no longer have to deal with price fluctuations as we do now with oil and gas.

Many persons power their RV and motor homes, as well as boats and Yachts with Solar. The best and most popular power today and is none other than solar energy.

It is expected to remain so at least for the next eighty years and beyond or until the sun ceases to exist.

The best source for power you will find for your home through the next century, Whether you like it or not it is here to stay. It has no recurring costs, and can be used in as many forms of renewal energy as we may need.
The fastest growing solutions for homeowners this day and time, whether we like it or not is Solar. and that is not apt to change soon, so you need to get used to it. It is here to stay.

We really do not have anything that can or will approach solar and wind power during future years. No doubt about it this is the way to go. We really have nothing that even comes close to solar and wind power and its use in various forms.

With all the different uses of solar panels, if you spread the cost out over five years, you would hardly know the difference and then look at the free years you have available at very small cost after this.

Most governments are heavy into encouraging solar power and use the investment tax credit to encourage the use of solar. This tax credit also helps in getting industry into installing solar panels.

If you do some investigating you will find that the government provides all kinds of grants to people for installations as well as purchase of solar panels.

Solar power is now being used rather than the windmills we used to see scattered around on farms as the windmills were used for pumping water but The solar is the huge favorite now.

A must visit is the Jimmy Woodall solar power website. He has lots of articles, videos and news feeds there for, so if you are planning going solar soon, see everything he has and all at NO COST TO YOU.

Alternative Energy Sources for Homes

2 Alternatives that will cut your electricity bills

With most people today struggling to make their monthly payments, and with energy costs going up all the time, are there any legitimate alternative energy sources for homes that will actually save you money on your electricity bill? Well, there is a lot of hype lately about different ways to produce power for our homes, the question is: What are they, and will they save you money? Let me give you your 2 Best Alternatives.

1. Windmills - Most of us have probably all seen those great big industrial windmills that are starting to go up all over the place, and sure, the rich can afford to put them up, but what about the average do it yourselfer? Well, you won't be building a 100 foot high windmill but a 10 footer will only cost you about $140 to make, and is very doable. All you need is some pvc pipe, a small generator motor, an old extension cord, some pipe fittings, some other electronic parts, and, of course, a step by step guide, and you'll be all set!

2. Solar Panels - These are also another option that you should give some serious consideration when looking for alternative methods to power your home. You can actually get all of the material you need to build a decent solar panel for under $100 and they are not all that difficult to find. In fact you may even have some of parts sitting in your garage or storage shed. Most of the other parts that you will need like solar cells and framing material can be found on E-bay and at your local hardware store.

People all over the world are testifying to great savings on their electric bill just by building their own solar panels and windmills. Why not give it a try yourself? Your pocket book may just thank - you.
There you have the 2 best Alternative Energy Sources for Homes that I know of. Don't bother paying the big bucks to the solar panel and windmill contractors, just build it yourself!

Are Renewable Natural Resources a Good Alternative Energy Source?

This is one of the most talked about topics today amidst the rising of energy prices. There are people who are for and against the use of renewable natural resources to replace petroleum fuels and coal.
Scientists predict that all the natural resources on Earth will be completely used up in 150 years at the rate that we are using them now, whereas some economists have argued that building the infrastructure for harnessing renewable natural energy is way too expensive.

1. Why Use Renewable Natural Resources?
Renewable natural resources like the sun and wind will not deplete in our lifetimes, and using them will not cause them to become completely used up, unlike hydrocarbons and fossil fuels. It is the best way to help conserve our planet Earth and to go green. The air will also be cleaner due to less carbon emissions and climate change will be less dramatic.

2. What Are The Most Common Types Of Renewable Natural Resources?
The most common ones that people are using today are solar and wind energy. They are essentially free and easily accessed from home. Both types of energy have their advantages and disadvantages.

3. Using Solar Energy
Harnessing solar energy can be very cheap if the energy system is homemade. Storage cells can be used to store energy created during the day, and it will still be able to run at night or in times of blackout.

4. Using Wind Energy
Wind energy will probably be more expensive to harness due to the higher costs of having to put wind turbines throughout in order to create enough energy for the population. Thousands of people have already eliminated their own home electricity bills with a free energy system. They learned how to build it by downloading a step-by-step guide online. You can find out more about how to build this homemade power system at the website link below.

Alternative Energy - Bio Fuels

Bio fuels come from organic biological masses. This may include fuels that come from alcohol, as well as natural gases and oils. Some of them can be used in cars and other engines that are combustion engines. It is a renewable type of energy that may be an alternative to our current energy crisis. Many environmentalists believe that there needs to be radical changes in how we live to protect our environment.

Various fuels are used such as corn and sugar to make ethanol. These products are grown all over the world. Gasoline is made with ethanol and is mixed into petroleum gas to raise the amount of octane in gas so that it is cleaner.

Methanol is also used in gasoline but is does not burn as cleanly as ethanol. It can be toxic in high quantitles and it is harmful to the environment. It can also be explosive. However, it is still being considered as a resource for energy.

There are other alternatives being explored such as vegetable oil. Really! Biodiesel which is a vegetable based type of energy comes from plants. It is somewhat more complicated then traditional vegetable oil but, it has similar qualities. Scientists are beginning to explore using oil as a type of fuel in mass quantities. It is made by a process called transesterification whereby, fat is separated from oil. Europe currently sells biodiesel fuel.
It is a cleaner fuel and is biodegradable. Long term usage of this type of fuel may cause blocked fuel injectors so if you use this type of oil, the injectors will need to be cleaned out regularly. It can also be used to heat boilers in commercial boilers.

Biodisel does not release carbon monoxides, It is a cleaner and safer fuel. In 1990, it did pass testing for the government’s Clean Air Act. There are no specialized storage units needed for biodiesel so it can be used in conjunction with or separately from regular petroleum gas. It does not require major engine modifications to use it.

There are some problems with biodiesel fuel such as it does not perform well in cold climates. It also may form wax crystals which clog fuel lines. So autos driven in colder climates will have more problems with their engines than those running on petroleum gasoline.

At the very least, scientists are beginning to explore alternative ways of heating homes, keeping automobiles running and alternative forms of energy. Hopefully, this will reduce the amount of money it costs to run a car and to keep our homes heated. You would think with the number of scientists working on these complex problems over the years, we would be a little further ahead!

How Can Average Person Help Stop Global Warming?

Many people who consider themselves to be a responsible world citizen, who want to do what they can to help the environment are finding themselves in a giant quandary in these times.

Why?...

Because, they want to do their part to help control and maybe stop Global Warming before it is too late! The problem is, they just don't know what to do to help.

Sure, everyone knows they can get energy efficient light bulbs but, that just isn't enough to help an awful lot. You could get a car that gets a lot better gas mileage. But, what can all of us do to really help?

One thing you might consider, is to learn how to create your own renewable energy with some method which is non-polluting. Now, that would really make sense, wouldn't it?

If everyone did this we would no longer be dependent on the middle east oil. We would no longer need a large standing army to protect the oil and would not have worry About the enormous transfer of our country's wealth to the middle east This is what T.Boone Pickens has recently been talking about on television and the Internet.

We have known for several years that sooner or later we are going to run out of oil worldwide The experts seem to disagree widely on this issue and the probable date when will run out. Based on what some of the best researchers say such as, Thom Hartmann, author of the great book entitled "The Last Hours Of Ancient Sunlight" it will probably be some where around 2030. That's only another 22 years.

What will we do when this happens?... For sure, one thing we will have to change an awful lot of our habits and attitudes about what is really important to us. Don't you Agree?

It seems pretty evident that it is going to require a plethora of things, Only one solution won't solve the giant problem.

So the question is what can we do as concerned Citizens to help rather than just be a part of the problem?
  • The best thing I can see, is to become self- sufficient, and not have to rely on anyone for Energy but ourselves.
  • Get our own energy system and if possible even grow as much of our food as we can.
  • Find a source of really healthy food preferably organic. Encourage our families to do the same.
  • How can the average person afford to be self contained and self-reliant? The answer, would seem to be: To practice all the conservation we can.
  • Recycle as much as practical.
  • I hear some great reports from people who have started using a device on their cars that uses some water for gas.
  • New technologies have made both solar and wind power more efficient and affordable.
  • Also, there are some excellent do it yourself manuals on building your own Energy Systems.

Alternate Energy - Why For Your Home?

Most of us know that alternate energy is the need for the hour. But when you hear that we could use it for home too - you start wondering, why home? How much do we need energy at home that we cannot depend on fossil fuels any more? And what kind of alternate energy should be used at home? Here is some food for thought regarding why alternate energy is needed for running industry as well as at home too:

  • Alternate energy can be sourced from wind turbines, solar batteries, hydrogen cells or even biomass gases. They can all be used for running homes.
  • We must do all that we can to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels imported from countries who may not always be on friendly terms with our nation.
  • We should also reduce our dependence on giant oil companies who have their own vested interests in supplying power for domestic use. Let us get freedom from grid-driven electricity.
As we gradually shift our preference towards alternate energy sources, the entire economic situation would also go for a radical change. According to Remi Wilkinson, Senior Analyst with Carbon Free, this would invariably result in a change in the electricity distribution infrastructure that we are presently witnessing. The existing power providers would have to look elsewhere to make up for the lost revenues as more and more households get engaged in micro-generation of electricity. Incidentally, Remi Wilkinson is part of a team of analysts based in UK and their company is called Carbon Free.

Carbon Free has been engaged in studying the growing trend of using alternate energy in the UK and the West. The rationale for this shift in preference can be attributed to several factors including government recommendations, successful development of technology, increase in the cost of fossil-based fuels and of course growing concern for the environment and a growing need to become self reliant.

The Hydrokinetics Energy Transfer System

The same NASA developer who created a method to power robotic underwater vehicles have proposed a new technology aimed at converting ocean energy into electrical power. Water based electricity generation is nothing new. Hydroelectric power is a significant source of energy for many nations, as is evident from China's ambitious dam projects.

Jack Jones and Yi Chao from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory invented a method for underwater devices to help power themselves. The technology involves using the differences in temperatures around them to create energy. This involves a phase change material which changes from a solid to a liquid when temperatures go from cold to warm. The pressure on the liquid is used to generate electricity, which helps charge the battery.

The researchers realize the high-pressure liquid could be applied on a larger scale. Eventually Jone and Chao along with Caltech proposed a system that would utilize fresh water in a closed cycle, so that there would be no harm to the environment in the process. As an added bonus, the design also "eliminates all submerged electrical components, which are subject to corrosion" says Jones. This is another added benefit of the system, as in conjunction with a low cost electrical generation system, could mean that this entire system could be developed at a lower budget, and be safer than the tidal generation system currently being used in Manhattan's East River.

The system also allows energy to be generated on command, which would help meet peak usage times when energy demands are higher. Other environmental technologies do not operate in a similar fashion, and often produce energy at unpredictable times. The benefits of this are enormous, especially in the event that the traditional polluting methods of energy generation which help satiate demand during peak hours should ever be eliminated or banned.

Ultimately, the cost efficiency will be the main question. Will this technology become economically practical? Scientists at NASA claim that current research on that aspect is only in the beginning stages and can make no promises. Many such promising technologies are being put forward. With energy being such an important aspect of our economy, it has become vital for researchers such as these at NASA to get the proper funding and backing. In the midst of trillions being handed freely to bankers and homeowners who bought houses they couldn't afford, less than 1% of it is headed towards promising projects such as this.

Electric Permanent Magnet Motor

The Future Of Free Energy?

An electric permanent magnet motor is simply a generator that uses the properties of a magnet to generate completely free electric energy. Although relatively new, this device is predicted to be so important to the way we power our household that even electric companies will begin using this technology to produce cheaper and more eco friendly energy.

How Does It Work?

This magnet motor works by utilizing magnets to generate energy. Using this magnetic energy, perpetual motion can be created and this motion can be converted into energy and electricity. The process of converting this motion into electricity requires less energy than the system produces, thus producing free energy that can fully power your home.

What Are The Benefits Of Using This Device?

  • This device can power up any appliance you have in your home including the television, computer, lights, washing machine, and everything else.
  • You can eliminate your power bill by 50% or completely.
  • All the parts to build the magnet motor can be found in your local hardware store and to invest in this project will cost you as little as $50.
  • Earn credits on a regular basis from your power company for producing more energy than you consume.
  • These magnet motors will continue to run and produce energy no matter the climate or weather conditions.
  • You can build one of these motors for your house in under 60 minutes whether your experienced or not. Many home energy experts believe that these free energy magnet motors will be the energy in the future and the big power companies don't like the sound of that.

Definition Of Hydrogen Fuel And How It Works

Alternative for gas / petrol fuel.

The initiative of using Hydrogen fuel as energy resource came from American government, scientist and environmentalist. The hydrogen fuel technology is based on simple chemical reaction between Oxygen and Hydrogen, the reaction generates energy. The resultant energy can be used as power a Car producing only water, not fumes.

The California state (America) was first to use hydrogen powered cars, currently few hundred automobiles are running in California. The cars have special storage to store Hydrogen in form of gas or liquid and process converts the hydrogen into electricity for the engine using a fuel cell. This project is still in early stage, with more research the technology will become more robust and commercially viable.

Advantages of Hydrogen Fuel

  • The most important advantage of using hydrogen fuel is that the emission it outputs is water only.
  • Unlike other popular fuels used for energy consumption produce carbon dioxide (CO2).
  • With little tail pipe pollution, Hydrogen fuel is less pollutant as compared to other fuels.
  • Research shows when Hydrogen is used with fuel cell engine over internal combustion engine, it increases efficiency of car.

Disadvantages of Hydrogen Fuel

  • The cost to run a hydrogen fuel based car is high. Because it takes large amount of energy to liquefy the fuel.
  • There is a need for compressed Hydrogen gas, which will allow car to run for longer time. Currently research is in underway to make it commercially viable.
  • Once technology is perfected and means to get fuel are economical and commercially viable, then Hydrogen fuel may strike cord with people and car manufactures.

I believe in near future we will see more dependence upon alternate fuel source and one of them will be Hydrogen fuel. The governments and private industries are pumping lot of money in research to get clean, safe and environment friendly "Hydrogen fuel technology".

Already car manufactures have started building pilot projects to get car out using Hydrogen fuel. Honda has set its goal for 2008, where as GM and Merceds has set deadline around 2010. More depends upon performance of initial cars, if technology is easy to use and cost per car is within the budget of people, then Hydrogen fuel may become one of the alternate fuels.

Basic Definition of Alternative Energy

Alternative energy is sweeping the nation, and the world, as today's biggest environmental topic. Alternative energy topics no longer revolve around nuclear energy for electricity, but also include the use of products such as Ethanol in cars. It is important to learn what alternative energy is, how it works, and the different types to stay on top of environmental legislation's and presidential campaign policy, and to make the best choices for your home and family.

Basic Definition

Alternative energy is the process of energy being formed from sources that do not harm the environment or deplete the Earth's natural resources. So, polluting and wasteful forms of energy producing, such as coal and nuclear, do not fit with the definition of what an alternative energy source is.

Renewable energy is a class of alternative energy that uses natural resources such as geothermal heat, tides, sunlight, and wind, which are naturally replenished through the earth and sun and never run out. About 13 percent of the world's energy comes from renewable energy. Renewable energy is what many call not very reliable because of its dependence on nature, but if one uses a combination of renewable energy sources, it can be every bit as reliable as traditional energy sources.

Kinds Of Alternatives

When people first really started talking about alternative forms of energy, they never could have realized how many would come about. What is alternative energy, today? Here is a short list of all the latest forms:

  • Hydro Power - Hydro power is formed by small water generators called micro-hydro turbines that are set into flowing water's stream.
  • Solar Power - Solar power is made by converting sunlight into electricity using cells made from silicon, which, when exposed to sunlight, creates and electric charge.
  • Wind Power - Wind power is created by a turbine on a tall tower using the wind to kinetically make electricity.
  • Ethanol - Ethanol is an alternative fuel to replace gasoline, made from ethyl alcohol, a common alcohol made from corn or wheat.
  • Biodiesel - Biodiesel is an alternative fuel for petroleum diesel and is produced from vegetable oils and animal fats.
  • Hydrogen - What this alternative energy is is the most abundant element in the universe and can be produced from fossil fuels, biomass, or by electrolyzing water.

As you can see, there are many alternative energy sources out there. What they can be used for is just about as limitless as traditional forms of energy.

Small Wind Turbine

Another method

Saving money on your home utility bills is important in a recession and there's no better way to shrink your bills than by harnessing the power of alternative energy sources. It sounds complicated but by adding a small wind turbine to your home you can drastically reduce your utility bills.

It used to be that alternative energy sources were only used by the very wealthy who could afford to install cumbersome, complicated machines on their property. But wind power generators are no longer just for large businesses or the government. Instead, the technology has become so simple that it's easy for homeowners to get in on the action.

Small wind turbines are available that can be mounted on the rooftops of homes where they gather wind energy and send it directly to the homeowner's circuit box. Where wind power generators were once too noisy for domestic use, they are now extremely quiet some only reaching a volume of 35 decibels.

Because state and federal governments are currently promoting alternative energy sources, there are often federal and state subsidies available to help offset the cost of buying wind power generators for personal use.

However, these small wind turbines are not for everyone. They need plenty of wind to be cost effective and although it doesn't have to be constant, it should be windy often around your home for this purchase to make sense.

You also need to consider space when purchasing a small wind turbine. Even the consumer sized wind power generators are too large for smaller suburban properties and may not make sense for a home in an urban setting.

But if you have about an acre of land and you have fairly good winds year round, a small wind turbine can reduce your electric bill dramatically for an upfront investment of about $10,000. While it saves you money, it's also a totally clean way of generating energy so you have the moral pleasure of helping the environment.

So whether your motives are environmentally altruistic or you're simply trying to save a buck, small wind turbines are great energy generating options for the average homeowner. For a small upfront investment you can begin generating your own electricity today.

Free Electric Generator

No need to pay single cent.

When it comes to looking after the environment, wind turbines are a clean way to produce energy with no effects of pollutants caused by fuel. It's a safe and healthy way for our homes and farms, without it killing any natural organisms and preserving the environment for future generations.

Wind turbines are a self-powering energy generator that rotates blades to produce energy from wind. The blades rotate by the wind, which rotates a shaft that is attached to a generator, thus this motion produces electricity. The horizontal axis turbines are by far the most popular wind turbines. They can produce a large amount of energy compared to other types of power. Horizontal turbines need to be pointed towards the wind.

Turbines come in a variety of sizes and wind power. Location is key to placing a wind turbine as it should be placed where it's going to get the best advantage to the wind. Hill-tops, ridges, near beaches, wide open spaces, where there is no blockage of trees and buildings, is the best locations, so that it has no obstacles to block it from catching the wind. Some small turbines can be used on boats and ships where they can gather wind and be used successfully.

One of the disadvantages of wind turbines, is that they can be noisy, but with today's technology they have developed turbines that are much more quiet to operate. Wind Turbines are becoming much more popular and you can see them cropping up along the countryside as you drive along.

Wind turbines are an excellent way to cut high costs of energy and to power your home or farm. With all the advances in technology the wind turbine is becoming more energy efficient way to produce electricity not just for the home, but also for buildings within the city. Wind turbines are an economical renewal of energy and will help preserve the environment we live in for future generations.

Alternative Energy And Sources

Top 5 ;)

The term Alternative Energy is generally used to indicate non-traditional energy systems which
do not use fossil fuels and have low environmental impact. There are many non-fossil fuel based energy systems either already in use or being evolved and developed to counter the harmful effects of increasing use of fossil fuels.

We shall briefly look at the major alternative energy systems.

  • Solar energy

  • Wind energy

  • Tidal (Wave) Power

  • Biomass

  • Geothermal

  • Nuclear

  • Solar Power as Alternative Energy Source

Solar radiations cover a very wide spectrum of frequencies - from infrared through the visible to ultraviolet frequencies. The visible radiations give us light and the infrared radiations give us warmth.

From ancient times people have been using the solar radiation for heating - heating water and warming houses in winter. In recent years many developments have taken place; now apart from domestic hot water supply or space heating of large buildings, solar energy is being used to provide hot water and steam for industrial processes and even to supplement power generation in large thermal power stations.

Photovoltaic generation of electricity as an alternative energy source is a modern development. A photovoltaic (PV) cell is made of Silicon metal; it exhibits strong photovoltaic properties converting visible solar radiation into electricity.

Individual solar cells are small and give only a small amount of power. Now PV cells are assembled in different configurations as arrays and panels; these solar arrays and panels can be used for generating sufficient electricity for practical applications. Arrays or panels of solar cells are being used in remote and inaccessible communities to obtain clean power; they are being used to run cars, to supply power on satellites and space stations and even to supplement power generation in large power stations of hundreds of MW.

Since the year 2000 solar electric production has grown at an average rate of 40% per year and by 2007, the installed capacity is about 10.6 GW.

Wind Power as Alternative Energy Source

Wind energy for pumping water and grinding grains has been used since the medieval times. Wind energy is now mainly used for generation of electricity; wind mills drive turbines for generation of electricity which is connected into the grid of the local utility. Due to variability of wind speeds from time to time, generally wind energy supplies only a small proportion of the total utility load.

By the end of the last year, the total wind-powered generator-capacity worldwide was 94.1 GW contributing only 1% of world-wide electricity use. Wind power generation has increased by over 500% since 2000 and is expected to spiral upward.

Tidal Power as Alternative Energy Source

Tidal power utilizes the rise and fall in sea levels due to the tides. This alternative energy source had been realized by man long ago and in Europe tide mills had been in use for grinding grains over a thousand years ago. It is possible to utilize this energy for generating of electricity and efforts are on in many countries around the world to harness this energy.

Tidal energy, being derived directly from the interaction of the sun and the moon and the earth's rotation, is an inexhaustible alternative energy source. The only limitation is that it can be put to use only in select places around the world.

The two methods by which energy of the tides can be harnessed are:

  • The tidal stream system which will make use of moving water in much the same manner as wind energy being used by windmills; and

  • The barrage system which will use the difference in the height between the low and the high tide in an estuary.
  • Both these methods are being actively tried out in various places. Experts feel that tidal energy has a great potential as an alternative energy source. .

Biomass Power as Alternative Energy Source

Biomass refers to biological materials including trees, grass, agricultural and urban waste matter, etc. Biomass contains energy received from the sun. Chlorophyll in plants uses solar energy to convert carbon dioxide (from air) and water (from ground) into carbohydrates. When these carbohydrates are burnt they release carbon dioxide and water, and energy that had been trapped in it is released. This is as if the carbohydrates act as storage battery for solar energy - they hold the energy and release it at a later time when burnt as an effective alternative energy source in place of fossil fuels.
From time immemorial biomass has been burnt to recover sun's energy as heat. By using modern technology we can produce heat, steam and electricity from biomass more efficiently and cleanly; we can also convert it into liquid fuels or produce combustible gases from it.
In US alone, about 50 billion kWh of electricity (about 1.2% of total consumption), about four billion gallons of ethanol (about 2% of the liquid fuel used in vehicles) are produced from biomass. DOE believes that by 2030 about 20% of transportation fuel could be produced from biomass. There is obviously a vast potential for use of biomass the world over.

Geothermal Power as Alternative Energy Source

The most recent (1994) estimate of temperature at the core of earth is about 7500 deg. C. Energy obtained by tapping into the hot interior of the earth is called the geothermal energy. Geothermal energy is an alternative energy source for generation of electricity; it is also used for heating houses in cold countries, and for supplying process heat requirements.

Building a geothermal power station is expensive but the low operating costs and absence of carbon emission into atmosphere are two major benefits of this system.
Power plants based on geothermal energy fall into three types depending upon the method used:

  • Those plants that take steam directly from fractures/holes in the ground and drive turbines directly from this steam are called Dry steam plants.

  • In a Flash plant hot water, usually at more than 200 deg C, , is taken out of the ground and allowed to boil as it rises to the surface; steam is separated from it and run through turbines.

  • In binary plants, hot water taken from ground flows through heat exchangers, where it imparts heat to an organic fluid to boil it; this organic fluid runs through turbines driving them.
  • In all the three types, the remaining geothermal fluid and condensed steam are injected back into the hot rock crust to recycle.

A 1999 study shows that the worldwide geothermal electrical generation capacity using existing technologies is between 35,000 to 70,000 MW; using the new technologies it could be twice as much.

Nuclear Power as Alternative Energy Source

Popularly nuclear reaction is equated with atom bombs. However, controlled nuclear reaction is used as an alternative energy source for generation of electricity for the last 50 years. Nuclear reaction releases enormous energy which is used to raise steam as is done by burning oil or coal in conventional thermal power stations and this in turn is used to generate electricity. Today more than 50 countries are generating over 370 000 MW of electricity by using nuclear power reactors.
Constructing and maintaining nuclear power plants is expensive. Moreover they produce nuclear waste which is hazardous, and there is the potential for enormous nuclear disasters. The nuclear waste is highly toxic and can not be destroyed or recycled. Unless properly stored in a secure location it can create hazardous environment.

    Renewables in Asia

Another good article about renewal awareness

Here in Bangkok, the first Renewable Energy World Asia event started on Wednesday, alongside the long-established POWER-GEN Asia. Thanks in part to Thailand's 15-year Renewable Energy Development Plan, launched last year, renewable energy was a key feature in all the addresses in the shared opening keynote session, where Lt Dr Prapas Limpabanhu of Thailand's Ministry for Energy, Sutat Patrmsiriwat of EGAT (Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand) and Doosan's Dong-Soo Suh gave their perspectives on the region's energy future.
The CDM has been a key driver in the development of renewables here, especially in the biomass sector.

In the shared plenary panel discussion on the impact of the economic recession on the Asian power industry, the mood was generally upbeat, with most speakers from the investment community agreed that the climate for renewables investment had in fact benefited, due to the drop in price of solar and wind plant. However, looming uncertainty about the future of the CDM, due to be negotiated in Copenhagen in December following preliminary discussions in Bangkok this week, is a concern: the CDM has been a key driver in the development of renewables here, especially in the biomass sector.

At the REW Asia opening session, Dr Twarath Sutabutr of the Department for Alternate Energy and Efficiency presented some of the details of Thailand’s Renewable Energy Development Plan (REDP), which aims for renewables to provide 20% of final energy demand by 2020, partly to increase national energy security and of course with important climate and economic benefits. The three-phase plan has intermediate targets – first, between 2008 and 2011, to step up from today’s 6.4 percent to 15.6 percent (10,961 ktoe), then by 2016 to 19.1 percent (15,579 ktoe), and by 2022 to 20.3 percent (19,799 ktoe). A primary goal of the plan is for renewables to replace oil, thus biofuels are a key component alongside renewable electricity and heat.
During the first phase Thailand will focus on promoting proven renewables technologies (feed-in tariffs are already available and a Very Small Power Producers programme now provides stimulus to projects up to 10 megawatts – previously the programme applied only to schemes under 2 megawatts.)

In the middle phase the emphasis will be on promoting the renewable technology industry and making it economically sound, developing a ‘green city’ model, encouraging new biofuel production technologies, and strengthening of local energy production.
In the final phase, Thailand wants to promote itself as ASEAN’s export hub for biofuels and renewable energy technology.

By 2022, the plan represents 5608 megawatts of renewable electricity generation, the majority of which will come from biomass (3700 compared with 1610 megawatts in 2008). Wind power would grow from a mere 1 megawatt to 800 megawatts (half the technical potential identified) and solar – largely photovoltaics – from 32 megawatts to 500 megawatts (just one percent of the technical potential of 50,000 megawatts the Ministry of Energy has identified). Biomass heat would increase from 2781 ktoe to 6760 ktoe.

The Ministry of Energy expects investment over the 15-year period, from public and private sources, to be some 488 billion Baht (US$ 14.6 billion).

    DIY Wind Turbine

    Does it works?

It wasn't that long ago that you would have to be a pretty progressive person to think about alternative energies. In fact, many politicians lost elections because of their quest for finding an alternative to fossil fuels. But, times have changed and it seems that everyone wants to save the environment and find an energy source that is sustainable for generations to come.

Solar, wind, water, and geothermal energies are all becoming considerably more popular these days and for good reason. By not relying on foreign countries or depleted resources, they all provide energy that will continue to be here forever. We won't run out of sun, wind, water, or the earth's heat.

However, putting those energies to work on a small scale has, until now, been very difficult. Installing solar panels on a home can cost almost as much as the home itself. And, few of us have a river we can dam or heat coming up from our property. One of the easiest renewal energy resources to harness is, in fact, the wind.

DIY wind turbines are one of the most popular ways to create your own energy. You may think that DIY wind turbines would be difficult or expensive to build, but they don't have to be. Many guides today now provide available a complete set of instructions that will enable you to design, build, and install your new DIY wind turbines on your own property.

By not waiting for your local utility company to get on the "green" bandwagon, you can start making a difference to the environment right now. Not only will you be more environmentally friendlier, but your energy bill will dramatically reduce with each turbine that is installed. And, considering each turbine can be installed for $200 or less, the savings will start multiplying.

    Wind Energy

    One of the alternative

Nowadays, one percent of the world's use of electricity depends on wind energy. Historical sources show that the exploitation of wind power began approximately in the 4th century BC when the ancient Egyptians used the wind energy to sail their boats. Later on, in the 7th century AD the Persians are mentioned to have been milling grain and pumping water by the means of mechanical energy produced by the power of the wind.

Although, in the 19th century, Europeans are thought to be among the firsts to have used reliable and efficient windmills, is widely known that the American farm windmill had been already playing an important role in the life of the American Frontier settler.

Actually, wind industry gained field in the 1970s oil crisis, when specialist considered necessary to develop an alternative source of energy, other than oil. Consequently, several European and American governments showed interest in wind energy, hence financial support was given to wind energy technology development. Thus, electricity generated by wind energy became as efficient as any other power generation technologies.

In Europe, Denmark is the oldest and a leading country in wind power industry, which has been producing wind energy since 1979 and which, by nowadays produces one-fifth of the country's electricity by means of wind turbines. The US concern to reduce global warming gases determined the renewal and support of wind energy industry, thus giving subsidies to the development and construction of the largest arrays of wind plants consisting of 6000 turbines, in California and Texas thus the latter becoming the largest wind energy producing state.

Wind energy is the cleanest, renewable source of energy, which besides being cost-effective, is amongst the most reliable energies in the world. Although, its constant use is restricted due to several factors, such as weather, seasons or local geography, its linkage to traditional electric network does not affect the consumer.

Despite the numerous complaints formulated regarding wind farms, as modifying factors of the visual quality of the landscape, as noise makers, as well as influencing negatively wild life creatures, wind energy industry has considerably increased between 2000 and 2007 and determined its expansion on the market as a demand for cost-effective sources of electricity, environmental protection, reducing global warming gases as well as political factors. Therefore, now, numerous countries, from all over the world, such as Germany, the US, Spain, India and China are initiating insistent wind energy programs and encourages their development.

    Energy Producer By Yourself

Think how much you can save if you can produce your own energy!

Save a lot of money and be your own energy provider. Energy costs nowadays are so high that it is taking a toll on the monthly budget of most people. Maybe this is because of our reliance on modern appliances and equipment that we fall prey to the use of electricity, and we are now stuck with the dilemma of not wanting to compromise comfort with cost.

There are several alternative sources of energy that you can tap into that will help you save in terms of electrical costs, as well as be beneficial to the environment. Power sources, such as solar and wind, are the most commonly used in household applications, though you can use hydropower if you are situated near a strong river.

Using renewal sources of energy have several advantages. One is that they cannot be depleted; another is that they do not create a by-product that can damage the environment. Lastly, the equipment needed to harvest these energies requires very little maintenance.

Let us take a look at how solar powered devices work. To collect energy from the sun, you need solar panels or an array of solar cells. This energy is then stored in batteries for future use. If you have appliances that run on DC, you can easily plug these directly to the battery source. If you use the regular AC appliances, then you will need an inverter to convert the power in the battery for use with those appliances. The solar cells have not been known to break down that easily and seldom are they being replaced. The only regular maintenance would be in the battery cells, which require you to level it with distilled water to keep the cells active.

Wind power generators need initial construction for the tower and fan blades. Energy collected from the wind is also stored in batteries and tapped into the same way. You can also a similar device for pumping water. There is just a disengagement mechanism for it to separate itself from the water pump in case your water tank is already full.

Any of these systems can be connected to the main power grid of the electric company within your area. They will pay for this use of power. In times that you generate more power than what you require, the excess power is fed into the grid for other consumers to use. In case there is something wrong with your system and you experience a power outage, the grid will power you with electricity from the power company itself.

Why not help yourself as well as your community? Be your own energy provider, save money, as well as earn money by doing this.
